  1. What is Share Skopje 2020, why is it organized?
With its 20 years of experience in organizing events in the field of architecture and construction Share Architects as a community aims to gather in one place famous and young promising architects from Central and Eastern Europe, where they can share ideas, inspirations and experiences.
  2. How was Italex Engineering part of this event?
At the third edition of Share Skopje 2020, as the main partner of the event was our brand – Graniti Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, and thus we, as their exclusive representative for Macedonia, took part in this renowned event for architects.
  3. Who are Graniti Fiandre? Which collections did they present at the event?
Graniti Fiandre Architectural Surfaces is a leader in the production of granite tiles with 100% Italian origin. They are intended for wall and floor surfaces for any room, from private to public buildings such as hospitals, schools, restaurants, hotels, airports to the construction of facades and raised floors.Graniti Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, in addition to the high quality of the tiles, also stand out with their unique design. One of their most innovative collections: Maximum, with a tile size of 300 x 150 cm, became available to us 3-4 years ago and is now very popular. But Fiandre does not stop there and is one of the few companies in this business that strives to improve the world around us and thinks about the future of our children.

They emphasize their innovation by producing a new generation of eco-sustainable and antibacterial Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic tiles. [3] With these tiles, they introduced Graniti Fiandre and presented the process through which these tiles purify the air and destroy up to 99.99% of bacteria.

In addition to the presentation for Active tiles, attendees had the opportunity to see some of the novelties of the Maximum collection live on the stand of Italex and Fiandre, such as Amazonite, White Beauty, Agata Black, Rock Salt Brown and many other collections from the Fiandre program.

    4. You mentioned that they have innovative and environmentally friendly tiles – Active, what more can you tell us about them? What sets them apart from others?

Active 2.0 tiles are one of the greatest revolutionary achievements, especially when air pollution is a real challenge in society. Their uniqueness lies in the modern technology that activates the four properties of Active 2.0 tiles through the process of photocatalysis:

    Antibacterial
    Against air pollution
    Self-cleaning
    Against unpleasant odors
These four properties with the help of silver as a new component added to titanium dioxide in ACTIVE 2.0 increase the effect of these 4 properties.

The presence of silver in ACTIVE 2.0 also allows

    – The antibacterial property to work in the dark

    – The cleaning of the pollution to have the efficiency of LED bulbs.

Thus, these tiles not only have a decorative character, but in their main focus is the cleanliness and health of the users themselves.

    5. What could have been found out about the event? Who were the speakers?

This event is of an international character and as such there were many foreign architects such as Bogdan Zaha from Zaha Hadid Architects, Jan Uttzon from Utzon Architects, Georgi Katov from I / O Architects, Madden Group from Kosovo, Juan Roig Duran and many others.

It was interesting to see the different approaches as these big names in the field of architecture work according to certain analyzes and digital data, using thermal cameras and algorithms, what materials are used, where they get their ideas for projects and so on.

The Macedonian scene also featured a number of architects with their future, current and completed projects, I would single out some of them and congratulate them on the presented projects, some of them are KL Studio, Tetraktis, Rado Engineering, Arting, Formica, studio HMA, Contra et al.
